What about Heathcliff's reaction proves that there is a ghost in Chapter 3?

What proves that Catherine was really a ghost and not only a nightmare Lockwood had? (proving suggestion of the supernatural as a gothic element) pg 22-26

Heathcliff stays behind after Lockwood has his nightmare and begs Cathy to come into the house. Thus, we can easily infer that he believes that Cathy's ghost was at the window.
