What were the characteristics that Heathcliff had which have made Catherine fall in love with him?

I think the things she finds most endreaing about Heathcliff are his self-imposed isolation and his tragic, feeling soul. They are very much soulmates, not so much romantically but as a measure of their minds. They complete each other.
