what is an assertion that Dave Eggers makes in Zeitoun?

I think the assertion is that Zeintoun was a hero, an American hero. Despite this he is still looked upon as a terrorist simply because of his ethnicity. There is an underlying systemic racism that exists in the United States, even at higher levels of the judicial system. It is pretty difficult to counter this argument in Zeintoun's case, if that's your position, but good luck!
