Why would the wife say her and the kids would have to move back to syria if Zeitoun died?

Zeitoun's wife had already converted to Islam before she met Zeitoun. She was a devout Muslim. Has. Zeitoun died, it would have been too difficult to raise her children as Muslims alone. Also the scars of what happened to her husband would not heal. Syria would be easier to reconcile her conflicts and raise her kids in the faith. Also zeitoun would have family there.
