    A Eulogy for Querry

    Kind of Activity:

    Creative Writing

    Objective:

    Students will write eulogies for Querry from different characters' perspectives to explore how they felt towards Querry at the end of the novel.

    Common Core Standards:

    CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RL.11-12.1, CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RL.11-12.6, CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.W.11-12.2

    Structure:

    When Querry is buried, the priests follow his wishes and do not give him a Catholic funeral or put a cross on his grave. Imagine that they did give him a funeral. What might each of the characters have said if they had to give a eulogy, or speech about a person who has died.
