Arman Bajalan

Bajalan is the story's protagonist, a survivor of Iraq explosions and civil war. Bajalan interprets the local language to the U.S. Soldiers in Iraq. During the war, all of Bajalan's family members are killed. Bajalan is lucky to secure a visa, and he relocates to the United States of America to seek refuge. In the USA, Bajalan works for Mr. Peters as a motel custodian. Bajalan's role is to ensure proper hygiene and organization in the motel.

Before starting his daily routine, Bajalan notices a dead body in the swimming pool. Bajalan reports the matter to the police, and he works closely with the investigators to unveil the cause of the murder. One of the investigators tells Bajalan that his life is in danger because the killers are after his life. Bajalan suspects the killers are the mercenaries who killed millions of people in Iraq, and they are after him because he is a potential witness in the ongoing case.

Catherine Wheel

Catherine Wheel is a detective who takes the case of the death of the Australian man found in the motel's swimming pool. Catherine works closely with her partner, Lamar Adams. After checking the body, Catherine establishes that the man is a former Australian military. Catherine suspects the killers are after Bajalan because they want to eliminate evidence of the Iraq massacre.

Lamar Adams

Lamar Adams is Catherine's partner. The author depicts Lamar as a sharp-minded man who does not leave any stone unturned during their investigations. Lamar carefully scrutinizes the dead man's body in the pool and helps Catherine to make sound conclusions. Lamar suspects the possible killers are the contractors (mercenaries) who participated in Iraq's genocide

Sally Ewell

Sally Ewell is a journalist and investigator. Sally is a curious and intelligent woman who ensures her reporting captures the events' reality. Sally works for the Virginia Newspaper and follows the congregational hearing case regularly. When anonymous people invite Sally to meet at the train station, she asks Cater West III, her ex-lover, to accompany her to the train station.

Carter West III (Trey)

Carter West III (Trey) is Sally's ex-lover. Trey is a strong and protective man who always ensures Sally is safe. Despite parting ways as lovers, Trey is still concerned about the safety of Sally. When Sally gets an invitation to meet unknown people, Trey accompanies her to ensure her safety.

Mr. Peters

Mr. Peters is the owner of the motel where Bajalan works. Mr. Peters is an understanding man who respects Bajalan despite his immigration status. Mr. Peters employs Bajalan as the custodian of the motel to ensure everything goes as planned daily.

Trevor Graves

Trevor Graves is the chief executive officer (CEO) of the Decision Tree Company. The contractors or mercenaries who took part in the massive killings in Iraq during the civil war own the company. Trevor is a corrupt individual and power broker who works closely with authorities to swindle government funds. Trevor is strategizing to sign a government contract worth billions of U.S. dollars. However, his deal is at a crossroads because Congress is investigating Trevor's company, which will likely endanger the contract.
