A Long Way Gone:Memoirs of a Boy Soldier is the first of two books written by Ishmael Beah. His second book, Radiance of Tomorrow, is a fiction book published in 2014 about two friends who return to their home village of Imperi, Sierra Leone after the civil war with the hopes of rebuilding the town and community.
