On Day 1's "Syrupy Sweet," students will listen to a recording of Langston Hughes reading "Harlem" on YouTube, as well as explore the Library of Congress Timeline of African American History. In "Whose House?" students will use several web resources to learn about housing discrimination.
On Day 2's "African/American," students will again use web resources to learn about American Civil Rights and the Pan Africanism movement.
Day 3's "Designing Life" screens a web short about costume design.
For Day 4's "Helping Hansberry," students will use the web to find sources about the playwright. For "Getting into Costume," you will need to screen a brief web short.
