While Marco came to America for the sole purpose of sending money to his family, Rodolpho came in order to start and enjoy a new life. These motivations shine into their personalities: Marco’s more serious demeanor contrasts with Rodolpho’s vivaciousness and tendency to break into song. Given that Eddie seems to be more traditional, one would expect Marco to fit in more easily with the family.
