    Objective:

    Students will analyze Bradstreet's use of natural imagery and will use their knowledge, along with their own observation of nature, to write poems.

    Structure:

    Throughout Bradstreet's poetry, she leans heavily on natural imagery to convey her themes and ideas. For example, in "Another" she compares her relationship with her husband to deer, doves, and fish. In "In Reference to Her Children," she employs an extended metaphor of herself as a mother bird.
