Alice In Wonderland
It answers the question regarding a moment that changed my life.
“What even are you supposed to be, Mary Poppins?”
My class was having a Halloween party and everyone was invited to display their favorite characters by wearing overpriced costumes. I was beyond overwhelmed with excitement and was eager to pick out and wear my costume. My mother and I went out that weekend to scope out some Halloween costumes. Despite all the creative costumes the party store had, nothing caught my eye. Heading towards the exit, I caught a glimpse of a queen’s dress, only in non traditional colors. From the ground, I grabbed the dress out of curiosity and made my way to the dressing room.
The collars of the dress seemed to be inverted, so I unflipped the collars and smiled at my reflection. The dress was a perfect fit. It was this moment that I knew what I was going to be for halloween; the queen of hearts. It worked out perfect because Alice in Wonderland was my favorite book series at the time, so I the costume choice seemed to be the most obvious choice. Time flew by me so quickly that it felt like I fell down the same rabbit hole that Alice fell down in the novel. The class party was today.
