What are the similarities and differences between dramatic incidents and dramatic speeches, if they are treated from the "same point of view"?
The primary difference that Aristotle lists is that incidents are effective by virtue of what happens, while speeches create their effects through words alone. Both may use metaphors, symbols, and a wide range of thought. The speech is there primarily to reveal the thought of the speaker, rather than events per se.
