Biography of
Alan Moore
Alan Moore is a Northampton-based English writer, novelist, and cartoonist. Moore is best known for his popular comic books Watchmen and V for Vendetta, which have been adapted for television and film, respectively.
After getting his start in the 1970s writing comics for underground magazines in Britain, Moore began writing for the American company DC Comics, working on storylines for Batman and Superman.
Moore's political views as an anarchist and his interest in magic and the occult often find their way into his work. Moore has expressed a preference for the term "comics" over "graphic novel." Although several of his works have been adapted for screen, Moore has said that, since the 1980s, he has purposefully designed comics that would be un-filmable.
