Biography of Craig Silvey

Craig Silvey is a musician and novelist from Dwellingup, Australia, who currently lives in Freemantle. In 2004, he published his first novel, entitled Rhubarb, at only nineteen years old. Silvey’s debut book put him in the literary spotlight when he won the 2005 Sydney Herald Young Author of the Year Award. Three years later, he wrote a children’s book, The World According to Warren, with illustrations by Sonia Martinez. He did not author another full-length book until the release of Jasper Jones in 2009. Jasper Jones was selected by the American Library Association for its "Best Fiction for Young Adults" list in 2012.
