Character Profile and Journal Entries
Kind of Activity:
Individual Writing
Objective:
Students will use their knowledge of the characters in the book to write journal entries from their perspective.
Structure:
Students will choose one of the characters from section II, Husband and Wife: Kei, Kumi, Hirai, Kohtake, Fugasi, or Kazu.
Break students up into groups for each character in which they will develop a character profile for their character, highlighting key personality traits, motivations, and past experiences.
Then, students will write a journal entry from the perspective of one of these characters that takes place just after the end of this section. To do this,...
