Bleak House Newspaper serialization of the chapters of Bleak House

The text of Bleak House was originally divided into nineteen three- and four-chapter monthly serial sections for publication in newpapers from March 1852 to September 1853, with the last section being a double issue. The Summary and Analysis in this ClassicNote has adhered to this original division, which is how the first readers of Bleak House experienced the novel. The last serial installment, double in length, has been divided in half.
