Why does Hank set up Protestant Sunday schools?
In Chapter 10, Hank argues that a united church always gets "into the wrong hands." Giving so much power to a single entity is counterproductive. As such, Hank attempts to divert power away from the Roman Catholic church by offering religious freedom to the people of England.
Ask students what might happen if people begin to adopt whatever religion suits them the most. Discuss whether he offers religious freedom because he genuinely believes in a person's right to choose the path their lives take, or if he simply sees this as the best method for disempowering the Roman Catholic church and furthering his own agenda.
