    Creative Writing: Coriolanus's Letter

    Creative Writing

    Objective:

    Students will explore the themes of the text imaginatively through creative writing.

    Common Core Standards:

    Structure:

    In this activity, each student will work to answer the question: what was contained in the letter which Coriolanus gave to Menenius in Antium? In order to do this, they will need to assume Coriolanus's perspective and write a short letter from his perspective.

    Students should be given free rein in their letters to address a topic relevant to them in the context of the play's final act. However, students' letters should ideally address and expand upon the themes...
