Students will bring the cockfights depicted in the text to life.

Structure:

In this exercise, students will be asked to create diorama representations of the Balinese cockfight, using Clifford Geertz's extensive description of the cockfight as a basis.

At the beginning of this exercise, the teacher should split the class up into groups of at least 4 people. Each group should also be given a box of spare arts and crafts materials to draw upon for their diorama (if more materials are needed, they can ask other groups for some as well).
