Democratic Vistas Irony

Democratic Vistas Irony

The irony of political unity

After the American Civil, it was time for American leaders to come together and strategize on solidifying the economy and enhancing unity among the citizens. Satirically, after the civil war, politicians became greedy and divided, and they started pursuing individual interests.

The irony of rapid industrialization

Fredrick Jackson Tuner proposed rapid industrialization in America, which was meant to boost the economy and increase the purchasing power of the Americas. Ironically, rapid industrialization accumulated wealth for the few American elites who were in a position to control production factors. Therefore, the ordinary citizens remained poor.

The adaptation of economic competition

The adaptation of economic competition in America is entirely paradoxical. For instance, instead of competing to create wealth and spread it to reach others, they became self-centered. As a result, people become competitors and views neighbors as enemies.

The satire of literature

Literature is a powerful academic tool that sharpens the critical thinking capability of learners. Mostly, literature is associated with learning and entertainment. Ironically, the author strategically uses literature to foster unity and remind Americans of the significance of brotherhood and sisterhood. Therefore, the author aims at ensuring that people find a sense of unity through reading literature.
