How does Greg interpret his mom's advice to do the right thing? Do you believe that this is what she meant? Why or why not?
Greg "does the right thing" by confessing to Rowley that he was the one chasing the kindergartners around with worms, and he tells Rowley that he'll be more careful the next time he decides to goof around. This is most likely not what Greg's mom meant by "doing the right thing." Greg should have confessed to Mr. Winsky and Mrs. Irvine that he was the one harassing the kindergartners; instead, he lets Rowley take the fall.
