Max
Max, the owner of the Catskills resort where Baby and her family go, is a family friend. He's ready to provide their every need and seems an excellent host. The irony is Max demeans his employees and asks them to romance the guest's daughter no matter how ugly. We see that he is a man only out to keep revenues up.
Stand In
Baby doesn't have the kind of experience dancing that Penny and the others do on staff. Ironically, she's willing to step in to replace Penny in the dance competition in order to allow her to have time to recover from an abortion.
Doctor Jake
Baby's father Jake comes to save Penny's life after her abortion was botched. Ironically, he believes Johnny is responsible for her pregnancy and current state and immediately targets him as the one to blame, although the child belonged to Robbie, who took no responsibility in it.
Johnny
Johnny is seen a fresh meat for the women to prey upon in the Catskill resort. And the women expect him to do as they ask him to do because they are wealthy. The irony is that they don't see Johnny as a man with high morals who believes in living life in a good way, this is because of how he dances.
Reconciliation
Johnny and Baby dance during the final scene of the film and she finally lands the jump and hold. All this is done to a crowd of people, including Baby's father, who don't believe in their being together. Ironically, for all Jake's misgivings of Johnny, he gives his approval to Baby and him being together, as he sees their love for one another is real.
