Structure:
In the "Allegory of the Cave," Plato writes of men who stare at shadows on the wall, unaware that the shadows are barely representative of the real world - they are trying to imagine a boot when all they can see is a footprint.
Have your students read the Allegory. The connection between Plato and Fahrenheit 451 is not obvious but evocative, so begin by opening the floor—how do the students think these works...
