All of Joseph Ellis's books deal with the founders in the late-18th and early-19th centuries. In addition to Founding Brothers, he has written biographies of Washington, Jefferson, and John and Abigail Adams, as well as The Quartet, a recent book which, much like Founding Brothers, deals with the political lives of four of the founders in the 1790s.
Students who enjoy this kind of history of major political figures in the revolutionary era may also be interested in David McCullough's 2001 biography of John Adams and Ron Chernow's 2004 biography of Alexander Hamilton, both of which have inspired successful dramatic adaptations.
