The philosophical deconstruction of Greek Culture
The courage and confidence of Nietzsche to critique and deconstruct the Greek culture is not only paradoxical but also an act of cowardice. The reader expects to see the vital distinction between the Apollonian and Dionysian cultures but instead realizes that the author is only offering differences between art, commerce, order, and chaos.
The paradox of freedom
In the essay, "Homer’s Contest," the author tries to explain the meaning of freedom and its significance. However, the entire essay is a paradox because the author narrows the meaning of freedom based on moral collectivity. On the contrary, freedom is the ability of an individual to express his views openly without fear of contradiction or favor. Therefore, narrowing the meaning of freedom to moral collectivity is flawed.
Misinterpretation of ‘Beyond Good and Evil’
The author's intention in writing the essay "Beyond Good and evil" is to criticize the unsound constitution and outdated way of doing things. Ironically, people have misinterpreted the author's intention and want to do away with anything that belongs to the past. However, the future is defined by history, and people should always learn from the past to avoid committing similar mistakes. Therefore, it is paradoxical that the true intention of the essay "Beyond Good and Evil" was never achieved.
