Matthew Modine
Full Metal Jacket is the film that Modine is most well known for, but it was Streamers in 1983 that earned him the Best Actor prize at the Venice Film Festival. Since then, Modine has worked in over 100 film and television productions. He has also worked in theatre, appearing in productions from Chicago to London, and most recently was seen in the first season of the Netflix series Stranger Things.
Vincent D'Onofrio
Vincent D'Onofrio began his career in the theatre, where he landed Off-Broadway roles before making his way to Broadway. He has appeared in over 100 film and television productions including Daredevil, Law & Order: Criminal Intent, and Men In Black. He is known for having the record for most weight gained in order to play a role. He gained 70 lbs. in order to play Pyle in Full Metal Jacket. The previous record was 60 lbs. by Robert De Niro in Raging Bull.
R. Lee Ermey
R. Lee Ermey was initially hired as a technical consultant, and earned his role in Full Metal Jacket after making a video of himself berating extras on set to try to impress director Stanley Kubrick. Kubrick went with Ermey, even allowing him to write his own dialogue and improvise on set, which was unheard of for the director. Ermey was a former U.S. Marine drill instructor and went on to work in over 120 film and television productions in his career.
Kevyn Major Howard
Howard is best known for his role as Rafterman in Full Metal Jacket and worked in Hollywood for a short time in television and films, but eventually retired. He has become a well-known headshot photographer in Los Angeles.
Arliss Howard
Arliss Howard has been working in film and television since 1979. His highly-praised performances in Full Metal Jacket and Natural Born Killers (1994) led to many other roles. He has appeared in 60 films and television programs, and is well known for his role in Steven Spielberg's The Lost World: Jurassic Park. He is married to actress Debra Winger and they have two children together.
