How does Grendel's feeling about the “charm” the dragon placed on him evolve over time?
At first, Grendel is excited about his new invulnerability. It emboldens him to attack without caution, smugly aware that he will always win. Eventually, the certainty of the outcome becomes tedious for Grendel, denying him some of the joy he initially experienced fighting humans.
