Henry IV, Part 1 is the second, and most well known, of Shakespeare's first Henriad tetralogy. It follows Richard II and precedes Henry IV, Part 2 and Henry V. Shakespeare has a second Henriad tetralogy that follows the War of the Roses. It includes the plays Henry VI, Part 1; Henry VI, Part 2; Henry VI, Part 3; and Richard III. Shakespeare also wrote three Roman histories: Coriolanus, Julius Caesar, and Antony and Cleopatra.
