    Character Analysis and Interview

    Kind of Activity:

    Group Work

    Objective:

    Students will use textual evidence to create a character analysis

    Common Core Standards:

    CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RL.11-12.1, CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RL.11-12.3

    Structure:

    Have the students identify all the main characters and make a list on the board. Break the class into small groups and assign each group one of the characters to analyze (Tish, Fonny, Sharon, Joseph, Ernestine, Frank, Officer Bell, Mrs. Rogers, Daniel, Mrs. Hunt, and Adrienne). *The assigned characters must be kept secret from the other groups.
