Jabberwocky
The Jabberwocky is described as a monstrous creature with ‘eyes of flame’, who must be defeated in the quest of good against evil. Other features of the creature are ‘jaws that bite’ and ‘claws that catch!’ The creature is killed by an unnamed boy through the course of the poem.
Boy
The boy is not described by appearance in the poem, but it can be deduced that he is some form of a warrior as he easily managed to slay the Jabberwocky. He wields a weapon only known as the ‘vorpal blade’ which could suggest some form of training he has undertaken specifically to defeat the creature. He does not seem to care about taking the life of the creature, as he is shown to be ‘chortling’ with joy at his kill.
