portal

A gateway or shortcut working as a passage from one place to another.

Description of anything which is capable of causing intense terror or instilling great horror.

Bequeathed with a profoundly spiritual quality.

anoint

Ritualistic rubbing or smearing of oil onto something, usually a person

inclement

Usually applied literally to weather or metaphorically to something being compared to weather, it denotes stormy or unpleasant climactic conditions.

tenant

A person who rents the space in which they live or work

hollows

Sunken, crater-like recesses

scraggly

Describing an appearance that is disheveled or unkempt

ominous

Menacing and with the capacity of instilling fear

haughtily

Spoken in a tone of arrogance; conceited and uppity.

lineage

The bloodline of family history

overwrought

In an intense state of emotion, usually suggesting anxiety stimulated by great strain

distaff

Suggesting femininity and womanhood through displays of delicacy and gentleness

garron

A species of pony found in the Highlands which kind of looks like a more diminutive Clydesdale.

prophecy

A predication or divination of future events

sovereignty

Official claim to autonomous and independent rule.
