James Loewen is a sociologist whose research and writing focus on revealing the falsehoods that are present in the way that US history is taught in high schools across the country.
Loewen was born on February 6, 1942 in Illinois. He attended Carleton College and earned his PhD at Harvard University. He has taught at multiple universities, including Tougaloo College, the University of Vermont, and Catholic University of America. Since 1997, Loewen has worked at Catholic University as their visiting Professor of Sociology.
