Christina Alibrandi is Josie's mother. She had Josie as a result of an affair with a boy from her neighborhood. Josie's mother struggles with still wanting to feel young and not having to always be responsible.

Katia Alibrandi is Josie's grandmother who abides to Italian conservative ways. She is overprotective of Josie and believes that all the women from her family live with a curse. Her belief stems from her own dishonesty and lack of communication with the surrounding people.
Michael Andretti
Michael Andretti is Josie's father who suddenly comes into her life. Josie is apprehensive at first, but they soon start a path towards forgiveness and bond as a father and daughter.

Jacob Coote is the main love interest in the movie. He is a bad boy with a soft heart. He lost his mother at a young age and lives with his father.
John Barton
John Barton is Josie's unrequited long time love interest. He comes from a rich family. Despite coming from a wealthy background, John is unable to find happiness and freedom of his own. He commits suicide after which Josie starts to have a different perspective on life.
