Objective:
Students will discuss the implications of the jazz age on African Americans in the South.

Structure:
This activity will introduce students to the "Jazz Age in the South" and allow students to consider the implications of the era on African American life.
1. Lesson Introduction: Let students know that they will watch a 10 minute video "Jazz in the South: An African American Perspective" by the DeKalb History Center. The short documentary viewing will be followed by small group discussion. (5 minutes)
