Of her 70+ novels, Agatha Christie's Murder on the Orient Express is her most renowned and one of the most widely read mystery novels ever published. Initially released as a serialized story in the Saturday Evening Post in 1933, under the name Murder in the Calais Coach, the story was compiled and published in novel form in 1934. Hercule Poirot is the novel's central character -- Poirot is favorite of Christie's (and audiences), appearing in 25 of the author's novels, as well as many short stories.
