The speaker
The speaker is a writer who wears the same suit every day. He has a daily routine, where he showers, dresses, walks, meets people, and then writes. He has enemies, or imagines he does. He appreciates everyday objects and ponders spiritual questions.
The suit
The suit is partially personified, and is also filled by the emotions and body of the speaker. It is patient, loyal, and at times afraid. It changes along with the speaker, wearing out, and eventually dying. In the end, it is “one being” and “one body" with the speaker.

The speaker encounters people on his walks who shape and confront him, and inspire him to write.
