I would not choose either of the options you have provided. Quentin is determined to find her no matter the cost, and Ben believes she will show up when she wants to be found.

In context, Quentin is alluding to the fact that though his life is comfortable and without any significant trouble... it is also lacking joy. He is somewhere in between.
