Why does Jeremiah go with Andreeson? What events lead him to go?
Jeremiah feels he had to go. He doesn’t want the kids to be upset, but he believes he was led to do this by God. According to Roxanna, he spends the night before arguing verbally and physically with God, calling Andreeson arrogant, saying he doesn’t know God nor want to. But in the morning, he’s at peace and goes. He tells Reuben later that it’s his job as Davy’s father to do what the Lord tells him to. He makes it clear he thinks Davy did the wrong thing by killing Tommy and Israel and it’s the right thing for him to answer for it, as much as he wants Davy to stay free.
