Students will reinforce their understanding of plot and character through a modern interpretation.

Common Core Standards:

Structure:

Austen writes very vivid characters. It's not hard to imagine them living in the contemporary world.

Divide students into groups of 4-6. Assign each group a character from the following list:

- Anne

- Captain Wentworth

- Elizabeth

- Mary

- Sir Walter

- Lady Russell

- Louisa Musgrove

- Henrietta Musgrove

- Mrs. Musgrove

- Charles Musgrove

- Captain Benwick

- Captain Harville
