Deanna Wolfe
Deanna is a 47-year-old ranger and biologist at Zebulon National Forest. She is a highly educated woman who scours Zebulon Mountains for poachers and monitors the wildlife in the area. She is very passionate about nature, and she isn’t afraid to speak out for it. Deanna was initially married to her older college professor but is now divorced. She wasn’t the type of woman to be held down by a man. While on her daily routine, she meets Eddie Bondo, and they develop feelings for another despite their age difference and the fact that Eddie is a poacher hunting coyotes. They constantly get into debates about their different opinions on nature and animals.
Lusa Landowski
Lusa is an entomologist and a widower living in Egg Fork. Her husband, Cole Widener just died. She is distraught by his death and the only thing she can hold on to is the epic love that they shared. Lusa constantly smells the clothes of her dead husband to feel close to him. Since she is from the city, she finds farm life exhausting and tries to evade those responsibilities despite her husband’s family advising her otherwise.
Eddie Bondo
Eddie is a 20 something trigger-happy poacher from Wyoming who is hunting coyotes in the Zebulon Mountains. He comes across Deanna and they become romantically involved. Eddie is constantly questioning why Deanna is attracted to him when they have absolutely nothing in common.
