Eo
Eo is Darrow's wife, who is also a "red." She is hung for treason, which inspires Darrow to overthrow the system.
Nero au Augustus
Nero is the ArchGovernor of Mars, adequately named after a cruel Roman Emperor. He orders the execution of Darrow's wife and therefore is the object of his revenge.
Virginia au Augustus
Virginia is the daughter of the ArchGovernor and is The Jackal's twin sister. Her nickname is "Mustang."
The Jackal
The Jackal is the leader of House Pluto and is depicted as being barbaric and violent. His real name is "Adrius au Augustus."
