    Wilde's Fascination with French

    Objective:

    Students will use research techniques to explore Oscar Wilde's choice to write Salome in French.

    Structure:

    Oscar Wilde was born in Ireland and lived in London at the time he wrote Salome. Why do you think he chose to write the play in French? To answer this question, students will complete a research scavenger hunt. Each group may be assigned a topic from the following list to research:
