Exploring Sensory Details

Objective:

Students will understand the different kinds of sensory details and use this knowledge and their own creativity in their own writing.

Structure:

Begin this activity by having students individually read the MasterClass article "Sensory Imagery in Creative Writing: Types, Examples, and Writing Tips." After reading this, they should make a chart of the six types of sensory imagery mentioned in the article.

Now, as a class, read the first paragraph of chapter 10 describing the winter in London....
