"The Secret Sharer" is a maritime short story written by the Polish-British author Joesph Conrad. The story was originally written in 1909 and first published in two parts in Harper's Magazine in the August and September editions of 1910. The story was then published again in 1912 as part of the collection Twixt Land and Sea. The story recounts a supposedly real event, first relayed to Conrad by Captain C. M. Marris after his time in the Malay Seas.
