Small Great Things Background

Small Great Things Background

Small Great Things was published in 2016 by American author Jodi Picoult. The book has been such a hit that it is now being adapted to film. The title of the book was chosen from the words of Martin Luther King's famous "I Have A Dream" speech, and also deals with the issue of racism. The main character of the novel is an African American baby delivery nurse, and, for the most part, she hasn't run into any problems. When a racist white family comes to the hospital, they tell her not to touch their baby. The baby falls ill and dies under her care, and they charge her on account of murder.

Jodi Picoult, born in 1966, is a best-selling American author that is still writing today. Over fourteen million copies of her work have been sold, and four of her novels have reached #1 on the New York Times bestseller list. Picoult studied creative writing at Princeton University, and also got her master's degree at Harvard University. Picoult's four #1 bestselling novels include Nineteen Minutes, Change of Heart, Handle With Care, and House Rules.
