How does Binetou seem to change following her marriage to Modou?
Before the marriage, Ramatoualye describes Binetou as similar to her daughter Daba: ambitious and interested in getting a good education. After the marriage, Binetou's voice seems to be lost. She is now well-dressed and respected in public and is described as "bewitching" by others. However, Ramatoulaye recognizes that Binetou now has an air of resignation and disillusionment about her, especially when she sees her friends earning their baccalaureates and doing the things she had hoped to do.
