Some Time Never Irony

Some Time Never Irony

The Gremlins

The Gremlins try to eradicate mankind and get their revenge for the fact they are no longer rules. After attempting to attack humanity, they conclude that humanity will eventually destroy itself and wait it out. When humanity does eventually destroy itself, the Gremlins take over once again, however, ironically they cannot survive without humanity and die off.

Nobody wins

The gremlins and humans are in constant conflict throughout history, however in the end nobody actually wins because each species goes extinct. This is ironic because ultimately they should have attempted to live in peace.

The Gremlins' revenge

The Gremlins try to destroy humanity. However, they ironically discover that humanity will eventually destroy itself through warfare.

First adult novel

This is Dahl's first novel written for adult audiences. However, despite the fact he was a talented children's author, this novel ironically received poor reviews.

The significance of the novel

This novel was not well received but ironically was historically and culturally significant as it was the first novel in the US to be written about nuclear warfare after the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
