What does Book II, Chapter 11 reveal about Mr. Stryver and Mr. Carton's characters?
In this chapter, Mr. Stryver and Mr. Carton are drinking together again. Explaining that he is more honorable than Carton, Stryver says that he plans to marry Lucie Manette. Although Carton says he's fine with this arrangement, he begins to drink much more rapidly. Stryver believes he is doing a noble deed in marrying Lucie, marveling at his own willingness to make a financial sacrifice in pursuing the match.
