Conduction- The coal gets heated by the hot metal bottom of the grill. The heat is transferred from metal to charcoal by direct contact. This is conduction. Convection- The heated coal warms the air around it and this warm air gets in contact with raw food. Thus air is a medium of heat exchange, So this is an example of convection. Radiation- We can feel the heat of the heated charcoal from a distance as well. This is because of the radiations in the form of heat and light emitted by the heated charcoal.
