In unipolar neurons, the dendrite and the axon have fused to form a single process that emerges from the cell body. These neurons are sometime called pseudo-unipolar neurons because they begin embryologically as bipolar neurons; later in development axon and dendrite fuse. Unipolar neurons are found in dorsal root ganglia.
